Ordinary people. Extraordinary impact

Make a world of difference. Volunteer with us.

Working Together, Changing Lives

In 2000, Poor Patient Welfare Association was established in Abbottabad by Dr. Aziz, then a medical student, to provide healthcare services to poor and deprived patients, particularly Afghan refugees living in refugee camps.

In 2020, to expand its work beyond healthcare and address wider humanitarian needs, the organization was renamed Khairunnas Relief Foundation. Today, it is officially registered in both Afghanistan and the United Kingdom, continuing its mission to serve vulnerable communities with compassion and dignity.

As a Human Appeal volunteer, you’ll have exciting opportunities to make a difference while building transferable skills. Whether you’d like to join our Schools Outreach Programme, collect coats for our award-winning Wrap Up campaign, rise to our Challenges, take part in our community events, or deliver aid in humanitarian hotspots, there are so many ways you can get involved.

Why volunteer with us?

At Khairunnas Relief Foundation, we deeply value, respect, and appreciate our volunteers, and we are committed to supporting their growth, wellbeing, and happiness. When you join us as a volunteer, you’ll receive:

  • Training & Development – Comprehensive onboarding, a volunteer handbook, and a clear code of conduct. We’ll also help you build transferable skills and access training relevant to your role.

  • References – After participating in at least five activities, we’ll be glad to provide you with a professional reference to support your future opportunities.

  • Travel Reimbursement – We cover reasonable travel expenses for activities within your local area.

  • Team Building & Networking – Take part in offsite events, seminars, and social meetups. Connect with fellow volunteers, learn more about our charitable projects, and gain insights into the humanitarian sector through our educational sessions.

By volunteering with Khairunnas, you’re not just giving your time—you’re gaining skills, experiences, and lifelong connections while making a real difference.

At Khairunnas Relief Foundation, we want to see our volunteers grow personally and professionally. That’s why we offer additional support and opportunities, including:

  • Interview Preparation – We’ll provide you with a mock interview and constructive feedback to help you build confidence for future opportunities.

  • CV/Resume Review – When applying for jobs, you can share your resume with us and receive helpful feedback to strengthen your application.

  • Leadership Opportunities – With training and guidance from Khairunnas staff, you’ll have the chance to step into leadership roles and even manage your own team of volunteers.

  • Flexibility – We understand life is busy, so depending on the role, you can volunteer as much or as little as you’re able, fitting volunteering around your other commitments.

By volunteering with us, you’re not only serving humanity—you’re also building valuable skills, leadership experience, and a brighter future for yourself.
